WHEN WE MEET

Youth Group:

Supervised open gym time is followed by a brief faith-based lesson including stories, scripture, sharing and prayer. Most evenings conclude with a craft or game, snacks and either worship music or additional gym-time with other youth and adults. The student to leader ratio is at least 2:1.

VISION AND PURPOSE

NUMC Special Needs Youth Ministry is dedicated to providing community for youth and adults with special needs to connect wtih on another in a safe, fun, and faith-based environment.

WHO WE ARE AND HOW WE GOT STARTED

​This Ministry began in January 2011 with the belief that every teenager, including those with special needs, face the challenge of ‘fitting in’. A new ministry was born out of the passion that every youth in our congregation should have the opportunity to participate and belong in the life of the church. A group was created as a place where special needs teens would be able to celebrate what makes them unique.
