Doing life together
Discipleship Groups here at Newburgh United Methodist offer people of all ages to join together and focus on their desire to expand their relationship with Christ. These groups consist of Sunday morning Sunday School classes, Journey Groups, P27 Men's Ministry and a Women's Bible Study.
Our desire is that you find and experience the “abundant life” that Jesus came to give us (John 10:10), and we believe that being connected in a Journey Group will be the catalyst to help you achieve that. In John 17:3, Jesus said this in His prayer to God:
“And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
You could also sum it up as the Great Commandment & the Great Commission:
Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew28:18-20
Discipleship Groups are the central places where Christ is fully known, wholly loved, and genuinely served.
