About Us
Who We Are
It's been over 200 years since John Sprinkle set foot in what is now downtown Newburgh. It grew to become a very important community and has continued its growth and prominence into the 21st century. Not long after Newburgh was platted, a Methodist church was established and began what would be a long and vibrant ministry and key part of the Newburgh history.
Today, Newburgh United Methodist sits on the primary road between historic and "new" Newburgh and continues the great legacy of ministry to the Newburgh area. Our mission states that we are committed to Growing Passionate Disciples. That means we are working every day in every ministry to help people develop into enthusiastic and committed followers of Jesus Christ. We continue to do just that every day with children, youth, families, and adults of every age.
It's because we take seriously our United Methodist motto to have "Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors." So, all of our ministries are open, just like Jesus' arms, to all people because we want all persons to know that they are known and loved by God and are called to eternal life through Jesus Christ.
